The Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, academic deans, and department chairs share a common objective to ensure that the qualifications of all faculty are appropriate for the courses they teach and that up-to-date documentation is on file to substantiate teaching assignments. SACSCOC requires the completion of faculty rosters that include all instructors regarless of the number of courses taught, tenure status, or academic rank. To ensure full-time academic faculty are appropriately credentialed, search committees and personnel with the Office of Academic Affairs, ensure an official transcript is on file every time someone is hired. Academic chairs and deans ensure that adjuncts and part-time instructors have appropriate transcripted degrees, licensures, certifications, or alternative credentials.
