National Survey of Student Engagement

USC Aiken participates in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) every two years, and 2006 marks the second time in which the University administered the survey to students on the Aiken campus. Survey questions emphasize student behaviors (how much they write, how much they ask questions in class) rather than their levels of satisfaction. Targeted and complete findings from this survey have been presented across campus to senior administrators, faculty groups, and campus committees. NSSE is a nationally recognized instrument for measuring student outcomes, and while no survey can gather direct evidence of student learning, the indirect evidence it provides can be quite compelling.
